The event of the year was held in the Garden District on New Years Eve. We opened our home to the revelers of the coming new year and much fun was had by all. The highlight of the evening (other than watching a very young looking Dick Clark jumping around on TV) was the Special Item Sharing time...which involved having everyone bring something that was unique or special to them, and then relating their stories  to the rest of the party members. Items ranged from a coin from the Ling Dynasty that were worn as pendants, gold from Alaska, cartouches from Turkey, and special fertility stones from Sedona. The food was excellent complete with Shrimp Shooters, and spicy chili. The fire inside kept folks warm while the fire out back brought folks back to their roots and times when they were kids telling stories around the campfire. When the new year came in, the poppers  exploded, and the music was enchanting. Many thanks to all the neighbors who took time from their schedules to drop on by and share in a little new year cheer and quality time. We will do this again next year...it is just way too much fun!!!
