WITHNESS TO THE RESURRECTION
Memorial Service for Martha J. Cooper was held
on Saturday, November 9, 2002 - 2:00- p.m.
Martha Cooper's friends and family turned out in force this afternoon to pay their
last respects. For more than 30 minutes, many of her dearest friends and supporters
walked to the podium and related their fond memories of her life. Carol West,
Vice Mayor of the City of Tucson, noted that Fred Ronstadt and she were very much
in favor of naming the new Midtown Library and Learning Center after Martha.
Carol promised to be a solid second vote on this issue and that she would hoped
to find additional votes to make this possible.
Death is nothing at all
I have only slipped away into the next room
I may look a little different,
But I am still I, and you are still you.
Whatever we were ever to each other,
That we still are.
Call me by my old familiar name;
Speak to me in the easy way you used to.
Put no difference into your tone,
We'll laugh as we always laughed
At little jokes we enjoyed.
Play, work smile, think of me, pray for me
Keep singing.
Life means all that it ever meant.
I'll be waiting for you just around the corner.
All is well.
