Proposed Center Activities
Center is a non-political, non-governmental organization. It is a resource of information related to Vietnam issues:
First year activities are included but not limited to:
- Vietnamese language class to Vietnamese children
- Vietnamese language class to American who are interested
- Vietnamese cooking class
- Vietnamese music and fashion shows
- Translation and interpretation services to people who need it
- Linkages of Vietnamese resources and people who need it
- Vietnamese language in the internet and computer
Second year activities will be expanded but not limited to:
- Promote Vietnam sister city to US city (Tucson and Nha Trang for example)
- Provide helpful information to American tourists who want to travel to Vietnam
- Sponsor foster families for Vietnamese students through US-Vietnam students exchange program
Third year and beyond will be more expanded but not limited to:
- Organize assistance to Vietnamese non-government organizations in Vietnam such as Vietnam Veterans (before 1975), deaf and blind school for children .
- Provide trading information to US business individual or agencies who want to have business with VN
- Exchange technology and economic information between US and VN in compliance with laws
- E-commerce to Vietnamese markets in the US and VN
Proposed operational funding
Center is a not-for-profit 501(c)3 tax exempt organization. It will be operated in a combination of funds that are included but not limited to:
- Fees and dues charged from members and users of the center
- Fund raising activities (seminar, fashion shows, music shows, cooking class, art exhibit )
- Contributions from private, foundation, government, corporate, business sources
Center Board of Trustees and Staff
A Steering Committee is formed to review and direct the initial establishment of the center. A physical location to be used for the center is being sought. Thereafter, a Board of Trustees will be elected and work on the center Bylaws and Articles of Incorporation. A volunteer staff will be recruited to keep center daily and/or weekly operation. Funding will be obtained to keep the center activities.
