NEW BUSINESS:

  • MNA Summer Hiatus (Brad Holland)

Because of the John B. Wright School remodeling, the gymnasium will not be available for Association meetings. A motion was made, seconded and passed that there will be no MNA meetings held for the months of June, July and August. The next meeting will be on the third Tuesday in September.

  • Insurance for Kids (Heidi)

Heidi spoke about insurance for kids who have no insurance. Heidi is recruiting volunteers to help fill out applications.

  • Committee Creation and Organization (Howard Ward)

Howard Ward led a group activity designed to create and staff new MidTown Committees. Members of the audience expressed their goals and concerns with neighborhood life. These ideas were written on colored cards and the cards were posted on the wall of the cafeteria. These cards, nearly sixty of them, were then grouped by theme. The groupings were given working titles. Members interested in the themes, wrote their names and numbers on "Post It" notes and affixed them to the boards containing the grouped concerns and goals. David Kha collected the names and numbers. Brad Holland asked for a volunteer "interim chairperson" for each committe. One member of each group volunteered as the contact person and asked to organize the first meeting. It is hoped these groups will define themselves as committees, select officers and self-name over the summer recess. The members of MidTown Neighborhood created the following theme groups:
