The Prez Sez…

Nightmare on Pima Street: Well, we had quite a scare this month with Pima repainting. I am happy to enclose this excerpt from the Transportation Guru, Tony Paez: "I agree with you that Transportation should commit to a set date to accomplish the work to implement a 3-lane striped cross-section for Pima from Alvernon to Columbus. My commitment is that the work will be accomplished by June 2000. Again, I apologize for the /Department and myself and appearing insensitive to your neighborhood. Please let me know if you have any questions…" It sounds good to me. Have a good month everyone. See you at the April meeting.

March Meeting Summary

Our guests for this month’s meeting were Officers Domanico and Mayhew for our Midtown substation. The officers made themselves available during the subcommittee meeting time to answer specific questions and address any concerns. Officer Mayhew wants to remind people that if you need a police officer to respond, call 911; if you want to make a police report but do not need an officer to respond, call 791-4444. For all other concerns, please call Brad Holland and he will determine if it is necessary to call the police. Officer Mayhew reports that the man who was going house to house with very convincing stories about needed money has been arrested and will be going to prison for seven years. His arrest was made possible partly by the cooperation of Midtown residents. This type of cooperation helps our neighborhood to be a safe place. Also in attendance was Republican candidate for Major, Bob Walkup. He was also part of the subcommittee discussions. He would like you to call him if you have any questions or comments at 325-3066.

Thanks!

Flower Angel of the Month goes out to Pat Hounshell from Judy Ostermeyer. Pat is the PTA Treasurer for John B. Wright school. Judy would like to acknowledge Pat for all her hard work and dedication to the students of John B. Wright.
