THE VICE PREZ SEZ
It was another terrific meeting in October. Once again we had between 30 and 40 people in attendanceand the food was outstanding! Lots of folks went back for seconds and thirds. The business meeting was packed with pertinent information for all of us. There was an update on our Library/Learning Center. Suggestions were made about what we can ALL do to improve our neighborhoods image and the benefits this brings. We heard updates on Wright School, tree planting, bike and computer clubs, and other matters. Come in November and participate as we share our ideas and plans.
OCTOBER SUMMARY
Our guest for this months meeting was Barbara Lehman of the newly created neighborhood association covering the area of Grant to Ft. Lowell and Country Club to Alvernon. She stated that her group is concerned about the extension of the One on One Pilot Program (garbage and recyclables) to the entire city. She stated that they have had to put their containers out in front of their houses, even though they have alleys which had previously been used for garbage pickup. She said they had a meeting where they presented some specific questions and that Solid Waste Management had not answered their questions. It was suggested that we have a joint meeting and possibly include other neighborhoods with Waste Management to address our concerns.
